The Rappahannock Board of Zoning Appeals has approved a plan for the construction of an office and apartment building in Flint Hill. Dr. Werner Krebser, on behalf of Little Washington Associates, submitted detailed architectural plans along with color graphics of the proposed complex to the BZA on February 26.
The proposed building will be built on a four-acre lot adjacent to the Comer Post Restaurant. Dr. Krebser stated that the structure will house a new post office, two offices, and four one-bedroom apartments.
The building will consist of block and wood construction. After determining that buildings of less than 8000 square feet could have wood as a part of the construction, Dr. Krebser slightly altered the original design so that wood could be used. The complex will also be landscaped with evergreen trees. There will be no parking in the rear of the building in order that neighbors near the site will not face a parking lot.
