Historical Society meeting The winter meeting of the Rappahannock Historical Society will be held at the Rappahannock County Courthouse Friday, March 7, at 7:30 p.m. Spencer DeJamette, of Culpeper, will speak on Indians, the early inhabitants of Rappahannock County.
Lenten dinner on Wednesday The Community Lenten Series continue Wednesday, March 12, at Trinity Episcopal Church. A covered dish supper begins at 6:15, and a nursery is provided during the program.
Inn Workshop The Conyers House in Slate Mills is holding a workshop for innkeepers and those who are considering the possibility of having an inn. The workshop will explore various facets of running an inn, including marketing strategies, regulations, daily operations, house specialities and finances. ‘Body Heat’ Body Heat, starring William Hurt and Kathleen Turner, a sultry, steamy film about passion and treachery, will be shown March 8 and 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay Street Theatre. Reminiscent of the “films noire” of the 40s, this melodrama stars William Hurt as a lawyer who is lured into a killing by a seductive housewife (Turner) who wants to be rid of her husband. The movie is rated R.
