The membership drive for the 1986-87 Community Concert Association opened officially on Tuesday, March 4, when workers from the five-county area met at the Culpeper Methodist Church to receive their membership kits and information on the next season.

Concert Association President Robert Dandas of Lake of the Woods and Membership Chairman John Cole of Warrenton are enthused about the offerings scheduled for the next season. Mr. Dundas expressed his hope that the current membership of more than 1,200 will be increased.

1986-87 concerts will include the Slovak Chamber Orchestra next October performing “a varied program of string music of the old world and new”; in November, Rostal & Schaefer, England’s most popular piano duo, play “the world’s best loved music”; in January 1987, the Aurora Trio, with harpist, bassoonist, and flutist, will perform, and in March 1987, the 40-voice Westminster Choir, considered by many to be the finest in the country, will sing. The exact dates of the concerts will be announced soon.

The membership drive ends the week of March 17. In addition to the local series, a reciprocal arrangement with the Concert Associations of Manassas and Fairfax County enables members to attend concerts in those areas at no additional charge.

Membership is $15 for each adult and $6 for students. A family membership which includes parents and all children in the home is $36, while a single parent membership is $21.
