Airman Coffey
graduates
Airman Wendy M. Coffey, daughter of David T. and Susie C. Coffey of Boston, has graduated from basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas.
During the six weeks of training she studied the Air Force mission,' organization and customs and received special training in human relations.
In addition, airmen who complete basic training earn credits toward an associate degree through the Community College of the Air Force.
Airman Coffey is a 1985 graduate of Rappahannock County High School.
Free shade trees for
spring planting
The National Arbor Day Foundation is giving ten free shade trees to people who join the non-profit foundation during March, 1986.
A Sugar Maple, Weeping Willow, Red Oak, Green Ash, Thornless Honeylocust, Pin Oak, Silver Maple, Tuliptree, European Mountainash, and Red Maple tree will be given as part of the Foundation’s campaign to encourage tree planting.
These trees were selected because they provide flowers, berries and nuts, in addition to shade and beauty, according to John Rosenow, the Foundation’s executive director.
The Foundation will give the ten free trees to members contributing $10 during March. The six-to-twelve inch trees will be shipped this spring between now and May 31 when conditions are right for planting. They will be sent with enclosed planting instructions, and are guaranteed to grow or they will be replaced"free by the foundation. rt 4
To become a member of the foundation and to receive the free trees, a $10 membership contribution should be sent to Ten Shade Trees, National Arbor Foundation, 100 Arbor Avenue, Nebraska City, Neb., by March 31,1986.
