allow an inexperienced person to operate my farm equipment. With schools, not only is the institution itself in jeopardy, but the futures of its students as well.
The farm economy is rough and rocky now and bodes to continue to be so. However, to deny the whole community its educational needs on the basis of that fact is to shirk responsibility and acquiesce to the decline of the community itself. A 15 percent — 20 percent tax increase to better the morale of our teachers and retain and attract experienced and skillful teachers is money well spent. I challenge the editor to show me any farmers, who, with use value taxation, would be unable to pay such an increase. One must remember that farmers have children, friends and neighbors with children and brothers and sisters with children.
