Students in earth science classes at Rappahannock County High School got to play Mother Earth and Father Time last week.
“My ninth grade earth science classes have been studying the history of the earth, how it was formed and how scientists study the earth,” said science teacher Theresa McGrady. “We made fossils to better understated how they are formed.” '1 ‘ ''Mk-Maafady 'explained, "There were two types of fossils called mold and cast. The first day we made a mold out of plaster of pans that hardened for 24 hours. The second day we took it apart, greased it down, and poured hot wax in it, which made a cast. The third day we took them apart and had two completely made fossils.”
Classmates Angela Keys and April Williams expressed their enthusiasm about the project.
