Headmaster William E. Lynn, in an unusual move, presented the Headmaster’s Award this week. The prestigious award traditionally given during Commencement ceremonies in June, was presented to senior David Rowzie of Amissville. Mr; Lynn decided to name the recipient of the award early in the school year because he felt other students would benefit from having a model to emulate during the school year.
In naming Rowzie for the award, Mr. Lynn described him as a student who not only works hard but also consistently. Rowzie participates in numerous sports at Wakefield and Mr. Lynn commented that he always excels and additionally he "plays his heart out.”
Mr. Lynn continued to citfe other qualities of Rowzie’s that younger students would do well emulate. He said that Rowzie was a perfect gentleman at all times, one who followed rules and accepted criticism in good spirit.
