Prayer seminar in progress
An eight-week in-depth prayer seminar is in progress at the Family Worship Center in Washington. The study on The Lord’s Prayer begins at 7:30 p.m. A prayer outline is furnished and all are welcome to attend. For additional information call Rev. Robert Dunphy at 9878505.
Foothills Assn, meeting
The Foothills Travel Association will hold its regular monthly meeting October 7 at 9 a.m. at Prince Michel Vineyards. The meeting is open to all interested persons. Lions Club dinner
Lions District 24-A Governor Gene A. Trujillo will make his official visit to the Rappahannock Lions Club on Wednesday, October 8.
A social hour will begin at 6:30 p.m. and the dinner meeting will be at 7 p.m. at the Corner Post Restaurant in Flint Hill. All members are urged to attend.
Homemakers to meet
The Amissville Homemakers will meet Monday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m. at the Amissville Baptist Church. The Washington club will meet on Tuesday, October 7, at 7:30 p.m. The Woodville club will also meet on Tuesday at 7:30 at the Woodville Baptist Church.
ARB to meet
The Architectural Review Board will meet Tuesday, October 16, at 8 p.m. at the courthouse. Interested persons are invited to attend.
Harvest dinner
The Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary will sponsor a harvest dinner on Saturday, October 18, at the Flint Hill fire hall. The country ham dinner with all the trimmings will be served at 5 p.m. Cost will be $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 and under.
Bio-farming conference
“Bio-Dynamics, Culture and Agriculture,” is the theme of a twoday meeting jointly sponsored by the Virginia Association of Biological Farmers and the Bio-Dynamic and Gardening Association of the United States, to be held October 18 and 19 in and around Washington.
On Saturday, October 18, the group will meet at 10 a.m. at the Washington Elementary School where three talks will be given by members of the Bio-Dynamic Association.
On October 19, there will be a tour of six area organic farms.
