Play on missing
children
The Piedmont Board of Realtors is pleased to announce the presentation of the theatrical production “Runners” at Rappahannock High School on October 8 at 1:30 p.m. for grades 6 through 9.
Since 97 percent of missing children are runaways, The Piedmont Board and Virginia Association of Realtors is sponsoring a program to reduce these numbers and reach children before they leave home. The Board has been raising money since March to help sponsor the theater group to put on the production called “Runners.” The group will travel around the state making itself available to the schools that want to participate. The 45 minute musical production, dealing with the problems children encounter, will be followed by a 15 minute question and answer period. The production is coproduced by The National Network of Runaway and Youth Services.
To date, The Piedmont Board has raised more than $3,000 to be used to underwrite the *ost of the performances. Many residents of Rappahannock, Culpeper, Madison and Orange have offered their support for this program. The first performance will be on October 8th at Floyd T. Biryis School in Culpeper at 10:00 a.m. for the 6th grade.
