closely regulated, there will be a strong temptation for out-ofcounty trash disposers to use it. Some commercial dump sites charge as much as $250 for dumping a truck load of tree stumps and brush.
One of the services taxpayers should expect of their government is refuse disposal. Since we in the U.S. enjoy a high standard of living, we generate vast quantities of trash. One of the principal constituents of our gross national product is garbage of all sorts; we cannot go on fooling ourselves that we can avoid paying to dispose of it. In other words, if we are willing to accept large quantities of consumables, expendables and their wrappings on our properties, we should be realistic enough to expect to pay to have the excess hauled away and disposed of properly.
In short, the county should systematically and deliberately set about the business of finding the most suitable method and place for its trash disposal and should assume the responsibility of expending whatever money is required to put the plan it decides upon into operation. To do otherwise is simply irresponsible.
