U.S. Congressman D. French Slaughter Jr., (R-VA), is launching his annual Congressional art contest for high school students in Virginia’s Seventh Congressional District.
Mr. Slaughter announced the names of prominent members of the art community who will serve as volunteers for chairman and judges of the 1988 Congressional Competition, which will be held in January at the Carriage Lane Gallery in Culpeper.
The chairman of this year’s art competition will be Jean Wilhelm of Charlottesville. Mrs. Wilhelm is the past president of the Piedmont Council Chapter of the Virginia Alliance for Arts Education. She was formerly on the Education Committee of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts.
