museum’s handmade tin cookie cutters.
A traditional huge Christmas tree trimmed with hundreds of unusual handmade ornaments welcomes visitors in the main lobby. Many of the one-of-a-kind decorations were created from natural materials by townspeople and other friends of the center.
An oversized , replica of a 19thcentury toy boat will again be the focal point of a gallery show featuring ships, soldiers, castles and mechanized toys. And the dollhouses exhibit features two intricately detailed dollhouses: a 14-foot tum-of-the-century model gaily adorned for Christmas, and a rare, Federal-style house made in Philadelphia about 1825.
Another gallery features dozens of painted wooden toys, many of them imported from Germany in the 19th century.
Hours for the folk art center’s Christmas show are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. The center is located on S. England Street across from the Williamsburg Lodge. A Patriot’s Pass, Museum Ticket or $6.50 single entry ticket is required for admission.
