Department diplomat who was in Lhina as the leader of a U.S. Government inspection team. He was ordered to leave on the Friday evening before government troops massacred students early the next morning. Following short talks by both guests, there will be a question and answer session with the public. The program will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the Gay St. Theatre. There is no admission charge, and the public is invited to attend.
Fire School seeks house
The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association is looking for a vacant house in which to hold one of the classes at its annual fire school, set for Sept. 16 and 17. "We're in desperate need," said association President Frank Huff, "It makes the difference between having a mediocre class and an excellent class." The house, according to Chief Huff, does not actually have to be burnt for the class. Fire ‘ conditions can be simulated inside, He said, or if the owner wishes the structure can be burned under controlled conditions. Anyone with an old vacant home which might be usuable for this class should contact Frank Huff (675-3848). Soccer registration
The Rappahannock Soccer League will hold registration for its fall season at the Rappahannock County Elementary School on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 1:30-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The league is for children in grades kindergarten through eighth.
