“Surely there must be a better place to grade and gravel than the existing road” on the west side, planner John Clark asked. “It would be to your advantage to find another place — it’s going to wash out.”
He noted that at some future time the county might have to take the road and improve it to state standards to make it part. of the state system.
‘The Warrenton (highway department) office said that if enough people were served by it, they would take it,” Mrs. Cloud replied.
“But that would be an additional expense to the taxpayers,” Mr. Clark added.
Mr. McCarthy suggested that if Mrs. Cloud were willing to forego family subdivision rights to the lots created in the parcel, the county might accept an increase in the number of lots to four. However, he added, due to the increase in traffic expected from the additional houses, the parcel should be served by a gravel road on a deeded right-ofway.
