In the wild, wacky world of politics, anything is possible.
Anti-abortion activists, who fervently want the government to make the practice illegal, have escalated their activities to the verge of urban terrorism with sit-down demonstrations, abusive confrontations, and the fire bombing of abortion clinics. How’s that for law-abiding behavior? The movement itself, moreover, pushes for governmental regulation over what is arguably about the most intimate decision made by the family: whether or not to have children.
It seems that those folks want government out of our lives, as long as the government is involved in things they don’t agree with — assistance for the poor and handicapped, for example. But if there’s something which they think needs regulating — abortion, for example — Hey, step right up, let’s make it illegal.
