James S. Long Park in Haymarket will be the site of the reenactment of the Second Battle of Manassas. The Prince William County Park Authority captures the battle between North and South in the Eighth Annual Civil War Reenactment and Living History Encampment on Sunday, Aug. 27.
Union and Confederate camps will be open to the public from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. with tours offered every 30 minutes. Two battles, the Battle of Brawner Farm and the Battle of Bristoe Station, will be featured at 11 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to provide spectators with two hours of intense action.
Other commemorative activities that day include an authentic church service in the Civil War Camp at 9 a.m. and a fashion show, featuring a variety of period costumes at 12:30 p.m.
