The Virginia Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse will sponsor a conference entitled “Cooperation in the ’90s on Sept. 25-26 in Richmond.
Billed as a follow-up to the department’s 1985 conference on coalition-building, it hopes to bring together mental health caregivers, advocates, consumers, the families of those affected by the department’s programs and other residents of the Commonwealth.
From that 1985 conference, the Coalition for Mentally Disabled Citizens of Virginia was formed, and through it has developed and expanded programs and services for
