Annual fire school

The Rappahannock County Fire and Rescue Association will sponsor its annual Fire School at the Amissville VFD on Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 16 and 17. Classes will include Ventilation and Overhaul, Instructor I, Confined Space Rescue, Apparatus Maintenance, Public Fire Education (open to anyone, whether or not they belong to ' a fire department) and Emergency Vehicle Operator’s Course (EVOC). reunion planned

The class of 1974 will hold their reunion on Saturday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. at Rappahannock County High School. Cost is $10 per person For more information call 987-8034.

Jenkins reunion planned

The annual reunion of the relatives and friends of the late Luther E. and Ada F. Jenkins will be held Aug. 27 at the picnic area of Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria, from 11 a.m. until dark. Those attending are asked to bring a picnic lunch which will be served at 1 p.m.

'Chances Are'

The movie Chances Are will be playing at the Gay Street Theatre on Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 26 and 27 at 8 p.m. The movie stars Cybill Shepherd and Robert Downey Jr. A romantic comedy with genuine romance, hilarious comedy and irresistible appeal from the director of Dirty Dancing. Downey gives a strong performance as a born-again lover, with Shepherd as the woman Downey loved in another lifetime. Chances are you’ll like this movie an awful lot. Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for children.
