Well, we finallly get a real snowfall over the weekend. It was amazing to see robins on Sunday. Surely spring is not far behind.
The country was shocked on Friday when a bomb exploded in the World Trade Center, killing five and injuring over 1,000.
Ellie Paniello, dietitian with Culpeper Memorial Hospital will be the guest speaker at the Amissville Health and Fitness Club at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, at the United Methodist Church on U.S. 211. She will discuss healthy living through good nutrition. She will also explan the hospital’s “Lifesteps” program and sign up anyone desiring to attend. For more details call Cathy at 937-5024.
The Warrenton Christian Women’s Club invites everyone to attend their special program on March 13 at Fauquier Springs County Club. Men will also enjoy the program. It begins at 7 p.m. To make reservations, call Ruth Murphy at 347-2178 or the Ivy Basket in Warrenton at 35 Main Street, 347-5622. Cost is $16.50.
Special features will be Andy Johnson of Sumerduck who carves ducks, and Bob and Patty Fisher of Nokesville will provide the music. A delicious dinner will also be served.
The Christian Women’s Club has been in Warrenton for 15 years. The club was organized in 1949 and has chapters in the U.S., Canada, and more than 20 countries around the world.
The Warrenton chapter meets every second Thursday for brunch and a program. Beginning with the May meeting, they will be meeting permanently at the Fauquier Springs Country Club. The club is non-denominational. There are no membership fees. Everyone is invited.
