Registration set
for kindergarten
All children who will be five years of age by Sept. 30, 1993, are eligible to enter school in the fall of 1993.
Registration for children who are entering kindergarten for the first time this fall will be held at Rappahannock County Elementary School on Tuesday, March 9, Wednesday, March 10 and Thursday, March 11.
The hours are from 9 a.m. until noon and from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., by appointment. Parents should call the school at 987-8259 to arrange a mutually convenient time. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
In past years, parents of children whose birthdays were after Sept. 30 had the option to ask us to test their children for readiness to enter school. This is no longer allowed by the State, Sept. 30 is now the absolute deadline for school entrance age.
In order that proper planning be done for material and staffing, it is essential that all prospective kindergarten children be registered oh March 9-11. Parents are requested to bring birth certificates and social security numbers to registration. ;
