in the honors program at David Lipscomb University in Nashville, having earned a 3.86 G.P.A. and a place on their honor roll for this first semester.
James, a senior at Rappahannock County High, was one of two students selected from the Rappahannock High School Chorus to be a part of the District IX Honors Choir at Woodbridge High School on February 13. The other student was Tracey Hitt. James also was on the All-A semester honor roll and plans to join Chris at Lipscomb this fall. Way to go, guys!
Mrs. Irma Lawson had cataract surgery last week. She was pleased daughter Ney was in from Atlanta to stay a few days with her.
Mrs. Frank McWhirt spent the weekend in Spotsylvania with her granddaughter Katelyn, while hei* parents were in North Carolina attending the car races.
On Sunday evening Katelyn and Mrs. McWhirt had dinner with her son and daughter-in-law, Walter and Pamela McWhirt in Fredericksburg.
Three-year-old Amber Stuart enjoyed a birthday party Saturday evening with many of her cousins and grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Stuart of Centreville, and Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Smith qf Amissville. One of her special gifts was “Barney.”
John Borgens and sons John and Jeremy are in Florida this week attending the seventh annual Black Belt Seminar, studying with Grand Master Jung Soo Park. Park is founder of Park’s Tae Kwon Do Federation.
Others attending from the Black Belt College in Warrenton include instructors Rodney Rick and Lynn Jones and eight students. There are plans for a tournament at the end of the seminar.
Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Smith visited with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Glascock in Reedville on Feb. 22.
