The Tour DuPont may no be coming to the northern Shenandoah Valley in 1994, but the Shenandoah Valley Amateur Bicycle Race will bring plenty of cycling excitement to Front Royal and Warren County on May 14.

The second annual race, sponsored by the Front Royal DuPont plant and the Front Royal/Warren County Chamber on Commerce, will feature a new 32.6-mile course. The race will begin and end in downtown Front Royal, whizzing through the rolling countryside of Cedarville and Rockland in between.

The race, open to all amateur riders ages 18 and older, will be limited to 150 cyclists. Awards will be given to overall male and female winners and top finishers by age group.

The first Shenandoah Valley Amateur Bike Race was held last may in conjunction with Front Royal’s participation as a start site for one stage of the 1993 Tour DuPont. The 15
