Dr. Gangel also listed things he feels are needed that were not included in the budget. He asked the School Board for advice on how to proceed now that Quarles Petroleum will no longer supply bus fuels in their tanks. A 10,000 above ground tank would cost about $55,000, he said. As an alternative the school system could try to purchase bus fuels from local service stations.
Dr. Gangel said he believes the gas will cost less if the school system has its own tank, but he said he was reluctant to add $55,000 to the budget. The board agreed to try to purchase fuel from one of more local stations.
