Twenty-four adults and children attended the hunter and handgun safety course given last weekend at the Amissville Fire Hall.
The 10-hour course was taught by Rappahannock County Game Warden Jim Bankston and volunteer instructor Cheryl Taylor. It is required before obtaining a hunting license for the first time. Successful completion of the class also meets the requirement for those seeking a concealed handgun permit.
