As summer is now well on its way, it is very important to drink plenty of water to beat the heat!

Most people do not think of water as a nutrient, however, it is the most important nutrient for our bodies. In fact, the human body can only survive for about three days without fluid intake.

Functions of Water

Water transports nutrients throughout the body to varying organs and tissues.lt also takes waste products out of the body via urine production and excretion.

Water acts as a cushion for the joints of the body. For example, water protects the spinal cord and the eyes form shock. Also, during pregnancy the growing fetus is protected and cushioned by water.
