Equipment for the Enhanced 911 (E-911) system is installed and is being tested at the dispatch center in the Sheriff’s Office, but the system has not been turned on yet, according to County Administrator John McCarthy.
Mr. McCarthy, representatives from Sprint Centel, Bell Atlantic and the State Corporation Commission were scheduled to meet Wednesday morning to try to resolve issues with Bell Atlantic that are holding up E911 for Bell Atlantic customers who are county residents.
