Each year more than five million hours are spent practicing selflessness — giving back rubs and foot massages, cooking special meals, playing favorite games, taking care of household chores and just listening.
Hospice volunteers provide these and many other services when caring for terminally ill patients. In addition to helping patients live their last days to the fullest, hospice volunteers may assist with financial and other personal matters that arise during and after the final stages of illness.
Hospice volunteers are trained rigorously to care for patients and to assist and comfort those close to a terminally ill patient. Hospice of the Rapidan offers a comprehensive 30hour training session to certify new volunteers beginning Monday, Sept. 11. Classes will be held from 6 to 9
