p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays at the Hospice of the Rapidan office at 1200 Sunset Lane, Culpeper. The training is free.

Without help from volunteers many of the personal services provided through hospice would not be possible. In fact, nearly 80 percent of hospice workers in the United States are volunteers who give their time to make life easier and more enjoyable for patients and families facing death.

Many volunteers are compelled to give of themselves after a personal or familial experience with hospice. Others may want to share the kindness they received when dealing with the death of someone close, who may or may not have been under hospice care. To sign up for training, call Martha Sukites, volunteer coordinator at 825-4840.
