Jeanie McNear, volunteer coordinator with the Community Services Board, reported that $10,000 worth of funds from the state housing authority were available to install a modem bathroom, but the owner of the house the Jenkinses rent did not want the bathroom installed. So Mrs. McNear got $200 donated from Teleman and contacted the church men’s group, and they took it from there.
“It is a heartwarming example of Rappahannock folks helping their own and rings true of the old Rappahannock tradition that is still alive and well today," Mrs. McNear said.
