at the age of eight. After winning a number of awards, most notably the National Music League Young Artists Competition, he lived and performed abroad for many years. He has recorded with the London and Berlin Symphony Orchestras.
The upcoming concert is Berkofsky’s second solo recital at the Theatre in Washington. He is the artistic director of the Cristofori Ensemble, whose second season in residence at the Theatre at Washington begins in October with an all-Russian program.
Friends of the Theatre plan a reception, at which members of the audience may meet Berkofsky, to mark the opening of the Theatre’s new season. The reception will be held immediately following the recital on Sept. 10.
