“A Survey of Virginia Reptiles and Amphibians” taught by herpetologist Peter Kramer Jr. will thrill participants by helping them find and identify turtles, snakes, salamanders, and frogs in the wild. In this survey of reptiles and amphibians special emphasis will be placed on learning the common and scientific names of specimens, general habitat requirements and several key characteristics. In addition, the students will learn the basics of the scientific method and how to conduct a simple natural history study. Ages 12 and up.
Robin Purnell, local artist and naturalist, will conduct an intensive course on “Edible Wild Foods.”
