war’s progress on the simple everyday process of getting married.
The audience will see demonstrated the powerful drive that Victorians had for a “proper” appearance, regardless of war circumstances, and how the dress and customs changed as a result of the strife of war.
The narrative will take the audience through the events leading to war, economic changes on fashions worn by the bride, wedding party and guests; the food served; and, the presents given.
The clothing and scenes will be accentuated with collections of original Victorian items, such as jewelry, parasols, laces, fans, china and silver.
The Olde Towne Brass will complement the event by providing period music.
