Confusing

I am very confused by the lettef from Mr. Harold Thrower of Washington, Va.
The first item of confusion refers to the “free rides” in high school. My daughter is a senior at Rappahannock and had ai wonderful time on this' year’s senior trip. I did not consider it to be a “free ride” at all, although I dd feel it was worth the effort that the seniors and their parents put in to make it possible. *
The next item of confusion for me was the reference to volunteerism. £. was at the Volunteer Recognition Ceremony at the elementary school off May 2, and I heard of many, many acts; of volunteering in our county schools^'
I do not believe that we are “sdproud” that we have to pay a contractor to do the work on our sports field&; nor so “high class” that raising moneylis degrading. I don’t understand how£ anyone who lives, works and pacticij pates in any of the community activK ties in this county can fail to see all the volunteers that we are so blessed te have here in Rappahannock. ^
I am very proud to live in a high class community where concerned,cit> izens are willing to give of their time£ talents and treasures to make county a better place to raise the a<iult£ of the future. What can be moreimportant than our children? '»
As far as 1 know, Mr. ThrowenP there are no train tracks i& Rappahannock County—npr a gravjjjl train. ^
