Rappahannock County, she finds she needs a larger market. “To sell art, I can’t expect to be in one little place and expect everybody to beat a path to my door,” she said. So art dealers and buyers will be able to find her at the “home page” Mr. Richey is setting up for her on the Internet.
Still she is not completely comfortable with this notion. She enjoys meeting with customers personally. “I’m a people person. Gestures and tone of voice is missing when you just type this stuff out. I like the give and take of letting something flow.”
She said when she first opened her gallery in Washington “People thought I was crazy. I found it’s .a niche that’s worked for me. I never get crowds of people, but the place has worked out for me.
“I have a track record. My paintings have continued to go up in value. I’m constant in sales. I can’t tell which ones will sell. As long as I've got a body of work, there will be'some selling. I plan to always be a student. I don’t want to be painting the same thing all the time.”
