can’t do one thing at a time,” she said. “So one day I’ll do Middleburg; the next one Hawaii. Painting is 10 percent execution and 90 percent in the mind, figuring out what you want to do. You work to a stage when you have to quit,.when you’re not sure what you are going to do. I have to have several projects going on at the same time,” she said.

“Art starts as an idea. There comes a point when you have to abandon a certain part of the original idea. You have to work with what you’ve got and make that the painting. You have a little left. That’s the next painting.”

At some point she will be in the final week of a large work, “I’m sequestered in the house. I hardly get out of my nightgown. I’m the epitome of the mad artist.”

There will be a showing of her Hawaiian work in Warrenton before it is shipped to Hawaii. She also has her work in a gallery in Washington, D.C. And she is developing a Web site on the Internet.
