Garden Party Rescheduled

A garden party concert to benefit the Rappahannock Association for the Arts and the Community has been rescheduled for Saturday, may 18.

Cocktails and light buffet will be served from 5 until 6:30 p.m. with a concert by Tom Espinola and Lorraine Duisit from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Coffee and dessert will also be served. There.is a $25 per person charge. The event will be held courtesy of Col. and Mrs. Stewart Willis at their home, Mount Prospect Farm. For reservations call 675-3193 during office hours.

Public Meeting Set

Education consultant Rebecca Bocchino will present details about GOALS 2000 at a public meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29 in the Rappahannock County Court House.

Ms. Bocchino will discuss how GOALS 2000 affects students and teachers, home schoolers and private school students, and the impact it has on taxpayers. For further information call Walter Longyear at 6753679.

Sperryville Plans Carnival

Members of the Sperryville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor their annual carnival this year, May 29, 30, 31 and June 1. Special rates will apply for the rides on Wednesday evening, a parade will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday and grand prizes will be awarded on Saturday evening.

Prizes will include the grand prize of $500, first, second and third prizes of $100 each will be awarded to a lucky winner. All members of the community and county residents are urged to support the fire department in their endeavors. There will be food, games and fun for the entire family.

Home Educators To Meet
