Howard Gray, 35, was indicted in July for two counts of forgery. He is charged with writing two checks on the account of Russell Pullen of Warrenton. Mr. Pullen had accidentally left his checkbook at the Fauquier National Bank and Mr. Gray allegedly took thd checks, wrote out two checks to himself for $125 and $200, and presented them to Ben Venue Store on May 25, 1996. The checks were returned from the bank marked "signature not on file."
