Free Clinic, Sheila Trask rushed
her two children to the emergency
room whenever they needed the care of a doctor. ' This mother, who has no health insurance, said bills from emergency room visits amounted to much more than she could afford to pay.
On Thursday, Sept. 5, Ms. Trask brought Ben, 7 and Kathy, S to Free Clink Night, held weekly in the Fauquier County Public Health Department building.
Ben had something on his eye that his school thought may be contagious, said the mother, who estimated using the clinic 15 times.
"In order for him to. go to school I need to have him checked,” Ms. Trask said while she waited for a doctor.
Without the clinic, a non-profit corporation that serves Fauquier and Rappahannock counties, Ms. Trask said she would have relied upon the emergency room.
