Bob Weinberg urged about 75 people gathered for the county Democratic Party "friendraiser" at Bill and Linda Dietel's home Saturday evening to "re-elect Bill” and send him to the Hill as the 10th District Congressman.

Bill Dietel pointed out that for the first time "in the history of the district we have a Rappahannocker as our candidate. We need to send the radical revolutionary Newt Gingrich back to Georgia by electing Democrats to the House of Representatives. It's wonderful to have somebody who does know the county. He and Wendy have contributed mightily to our county through The Theatre," he said.

"He has been a stalwart defender of the values that mark Democrats apart from the Republicans. We know he will stand up for the things that are not necessarily popular, and he won't spend all our money increasing the nation
