Woodard's could enjoy a view of the gardens and the ducks, geese and blue heron who live on the pond behind the house. . And as the Woodards had always admired Frank Lloyd Wright, an inglenook was built around the fireplace in the living room. It adds a cozy spot for winter reading.
The light walls provide a backdrop for the work of local artists Patton Wilson, Tom Spande, June Jordan, and Mrs. Woodard's father Art Bigelson, while the kitchen has space for Mr. Woodard's collection of salt and pepper shakers. Some of the furniture was made by Mr. Woodard's brother, and in the future the upstairs will be home to a collection of American folk art.
