A CARE (Christian AIDS Response Effort) Fund has been established under the sponsorship of the Shiloh Baptist Association. CARE is a community-wide effort with the purpose of providing emergency funding for those who suffer from HIV/AIDS.

The Fund is limited in its scope and disburses funds under the following guidelines.

• Financial assistance will be made available to those residing in Culpeper, Madison, Orange and Rappahannock counties infected with HIV/AIDS when all other avenues of financial aid have been exhausted.

• Eligibility for financial assistance will be determined by the AIDS Support Group case manager for Virginia District 9. \ • Payments will be made directly to the1>illing party.

• Maximum cumulative aid granted to any client will be determined by the case manager based on the amount of funds available and the number of clients requesting assistance.

• Covered items include housing, utilities, medical bills: related to HIV/AIDS (limited to emergency medical assistance provided through a private physician), prescription drugs and dental care.

The advisory board includes members of the Shiloh Baptist Association churches and members of the community at large. From Rappahannock County Ellen Mustoe, a member of the Washington Baptist Church, is on the board.
