Wakefield Country Day Scjiool kicked off its '96 soccer season with a 5-0 loss to Shenandoah Valley Christian Academy last Friday.
SVCA, which has lost just twice in two years, controlled the game ffom the outset. However, the Owl defense played tough and contained SVCA's high powered offense. Two of SVCA's goals were scored off of penalty kicks. The WCDS offense, largely silent in the first half, was able to manage a few scoring opportunities in the second, but SVCA's goalkeeper made a spectacular save to preserve the shutout.
