Rappahannock County will be better off if Clinton is re-elected being represented "by a Republican who contributed to the gridlock or a progressive Democrat.

"People used to think Frank Wolfs vote didn't matter," he said, but he noted that Frank Wolf had supported Newt Gingrich for the leadership position in the House that led to his becoming the Speaker. He noted that Rep. Gingrich won that Republican Party election by only two votes, and Rep. Gingrich would not today be speaker without Frank Wolfs vote.

He said Rep. Wolf was also part of the process "that knocked Uncle Sam to the ground" when the government was shut down. He noted that the government shutdown had put some firms that contract with the government out of business and cost "our area $3.1 billion."

He noted that the Republican platform calls for shutting down the departments of Education, Energy, Commerce and Housing and Urban Development.
