Upcoming seminars include "Laugh, Cough, Sneeze — Oops, Urinary Incontinence" by Dr. Mary Martin on Oct. 29 and "Putting On A New Face," which will focus on methods for preventing and minimizing wrinkles, by Dr. Lisa Sherman in November.
The hospital plans to add a new dimension to the lectures this fall with a Women's Health Hall among the displays at the Alive and Kicking Health Festival.
Slated for Saturday, Sept. 28 and Sunday, Sept. 29 at the hospital, die event will offer free health screenings, demonstrations, classes and lectures. (See Story, Page 12)
The women's health hall will feature a bone densitometer, which can measure the strength of one's bones, as well as information on mammograms and directions for breast self-exams, Ms. North said.
Additionally, Dr. Martin will display an interactive demonstration on laparocope, allowing observers the opportunity to "perform an operation."
Doctors Thomas Myers, Robert Young and Jeffrey Bell plan to set up a sonogram demonstration. The video will feature the different stages of pregnancy and the doctors will explain the development of the baby, Ms. North said.
