School Make-up Day Friday, Oct. 18, originally scheduled as a teachers’ in-service day, will instead be a regular school day for Rappahannock students. That day will serve as a make-up day for Sept. 6 when schools were closed due to flooding.
Fall Election The last day to register for the fall election is Monday, Oct. 7. Regular hours for the registrar's office in the Commissioner of Revenue's building on Gay Street are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 pm. In addition Registrar Nancy Leake will have the office open Saturday, Oct. 5 for registration and will have special voter registration at Rappahannock County High School from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27, and at Burke's Store in Woodville from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30. Voter registration forms are also available in the country stores as well as the Social Services office in Washington.
