The Flint Hill United Methodist Church Homecortiing service was held on Sunday, September 22 with Rev. James Grimmer as guest speaker.
The service honored Mrs. Barbara Gentry for her years of service in the church which was revealed by the pastor, the Rev. Merlin Shorb.
Candy Lamma pinned a corsage on Mrs. Gentry, given by the United Methodist women. Bonnie Dodson read a poem honoring her mother.
The honoree was presented a plaque representing the Methodist Cross and Flame Emblem with a gold plate with her name. The plaque was hung in the church by Mrs. Gentry's grandson, Gary Dodson. The plaque was made by Ernie Crane.
Mrs. Gentry was surrounded by her family, Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Dodson of Staunton, Sharen Dunn and twins, Ann and Erin of Mineral, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Dodson of Hemdon, Mr. and Mrs. Ron Gentry, Maggie and Molly of Nokesville and Susan Scott of Bethesda, Md.
Katie Welch was a Friday guest of Ron and Susie Walsh at Herndon and attehded the Washington Capitals Hockey game at the US Air Arena.
Irene Hamilton of High Point, N.C. arrived on Sunday to spend a week with her mother, Alice Brady.
