Mr. Taylor had rented out a room in his house to Mr. Williams and noticed that many items were missing, worth a total of $1,198. After checking with several local pawnshops, Major MacWelch was able to recover a stereo, tool box with tools, metal detectors, electronic drills, rifle reloading supplies and Civil War bullets.

On May 25, said Major MacWelch, Mr. Williams was the subject of a pursuit through a wooded area by the Belmont, New Hampshire, Police Department. Mr. Williams abandoned his vehicle, was chased with dogs, but got away. His last known address was in Bealeton, and he has ties in this area.
