Fun Day Planned
A family fun day will be held at the Flint Hill Volunteer Fire Department beginning at 10 a.m. on Sunday, October 20.
The event will feature an open house, a film on wood stove safety, bake sale, cider, yard sale, crafts and lots of other fun filled activities. Pony rides will be available for children for a token which will obtained just by touring the new ambulance. Benefit Dance Scheduled
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, September 21. River Bottom will be the group performing. Proper dress code required (shirts must have collars) and you must be 21 years of age to attend. For more information call Sheila at 9374357. ,
Case For Phonics To Be Presented
Mr. Robert Sweet, President of the National Right To Read Foundation, will present "The Case For Phonics: Why Whole Language Education is Failing Our Children" at a public meeting on Tuesday, October 15 at 7:30 p.m. in the Rappahannock County Court House. Life Enrichment Series To Begin
The Rappahannock Healing Arts will sponsor weekly life enrichment series beginning on Thursday, Sept. 26 from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Rappahannock Library on U.S. 211 near Washington. At the Introductory Session you will get to meet the practitioners from Rappahannock Healing Arts who support and promote self-healing and learn about the variety of modalities and experiences offered to facilitate self-awareness and a healthy life. A Hands-on Healing and Guided Imagery will be held on Thursday, Oct. 3. All sessions are free. For information call 987-7204.
Shooting Matches To Begin
Castleton Volunteer Fire Company will sponsor shooting matches beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 4. Prizes will include cash and meat. Twelve gauge guns only with no sleeves and no scopes. The matches will last for seven weeks only.
