The average daily membership at the Rappahannock County Public Schools, a more significant number than enrollment, has decreased in the last 20 years from 1207 to 1061, a drop of 146 students. Members of the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors have questioned the school’s need for more space and additional classrooms in light of that fact.
Space needs in the future are being based on projected enrollment and the need for added courses in the school curriculum necessary to meet the Standards of Accreditation requirements said Dr. David Gangel, superintendent of schools.
