Emily Simms was represented as the motivated, intelligent student that she ' is. All in attendance had enthusiasm and a wide range of ideas at the first meeting. The group is in its infancy. Deciding on a name and station goals led to the desire to host a fund raiser dance in the near future. They hope it will spread the excitement to area schools to get involved and bring the community’s teens together.
We are fortunate to raise our children in such a beautiful place. Our community churches and schools already offer many engaging activities. The CCYC hopes to gather and disseminate info that is specific for teens through the library and be active in implementing programs. It is and opportunity to learn leadership and organizational skills.
Listening to our teenagers can bring diversity and opportunities to our community. Having an outlet to explore their thoughts, express and actualize their visions helps them gain necessary life skills.
CCYC is open to all young people and adults interested in strengthening our wonderful, creative community.
